Is this from a photo, or do you have a fancy mirror set-up?

Thanks! I bought two big mirrors at a goodwill and I positioned them so I could see this angle of my head. It helps a lot. I gets boring drawing my face from the same angle in a single mirror. Plus, it allows you to see what you really look like to other people. I try not to draw from photos too much.

Right, right, you know it -- the distortions in photos are maddeningly subtle yet world-changing at the same time. That defines my love-hate relation with them.

Agreed. I draw from photos some times, but it's all about balance. I draw a bit from life, photos and my imagination to stay rounded.
